OZONE...

Agent Beryllium has revealed that she has been continually sexually harassed online by an RLSH named Captain Ozone. Captain Ozone's own responses to these allegations seem to support the claim. This is one of the most troubling things I've seen in the community of late. To make things worse, while I haven't seen anyone come out directly in support of Ozone, I have seem more than a couple suggest that she essentially get over it. Block the guy and move on, just report him, blah blah blah. Someone even went so far as to say he didn't understand why it was being made into a natural disaster. This is the type of personalities on display in today's RLSH community. 

I'm going to start out by posting here my response to her latest thread, which were my immediate thoughts on the subject: 

"My biggest issue with this is that I've heard "Move on," and "Get over it," More than once, and just once is one time too many. People seem to think that because this is the internet all you have to do is close the page, or block, or do something else. This is not a joke and it is NOT something to take lightly. There is real genuine emotional damage that occurs when someone is sexually harassed. To the asshats who think she should "get over it," What if it were your daughter, or your girlfriend? Your sister? Your mother? What if some woman who was close to you was being constantly made the subject of some sick bastard's twisted sexual fantasy? Not vivid enough for you? Fine. Close your eyes, clear your mind and picture this... imagine Charles Manson sitting at home wacking off to a picture of your sister on the internet. Now imagine that before he does that, he actually messages her and says whatever it is he needs to say to get himself worked up enough to go do his fapping.... Don't like it? Do something about it. I don't agree with dropping dox. Everyone knows this about me by now, but these are the acts of a sexual predator, ladies and gentlemen... Should he be teaching children?"

The "dropping dox" part refers to her threat of exposing him to his job if he doesn't apologize by Saturday. I don't necessarily agree with this tactic, but it is important to point out a couple of things - Beryllium does not have his real name. She thinks that he is a science teacher. She doesn't know what school he teaches at or if he's even still currently teaching. This means that there is no guarantee that any damage will be done by reporting his activities to all the local schools. So there's really nothing I CAN say in that context.

What I can say is exactly what I said in that above post - He is a sexual predator. At least two people have come forward to report that he has indeed shown this type of behavior to others. So he clearly won't stop there. Is this someone who should be teaching children? Is this someone who should be represented as a role model for children? Are these actions something to emulate?

Ozone is a veteran RLSH. He's been out there for a long time and he's done some good. But that doesn't make this type of behavior acceptable. NO ONE SHOULD BE ALLOWED TO TREAT OTHERS IN THIS WAY. EVER.

Heroes... What the Hell is going on lately? This is downright embarrassing. Ozone is just the latest in a string of supposed heroes who have no business being out there at all, much less be allowed to gallivant around the internet harassing people. You all dedicate yourselves to patrolling the streets, helping people and making the world a better place, but I gotta tell you, there are some seriously black sheep running around mucking up the works! What are you going to do to fix it? Seriously?

And to everyone else.. I'm making a plea to the women of the community right now. If you or someone you know has been harassed by this man in any way, please come forward. Tell your story. Show the community what type of man this "hero" really is.

It's seriously time to start fixing things around here, folks. Let's start here.
